No track limits here! In typically spectacular fashion, Gilles Villeneuve wrestles the ill-handling Ferrari 312 T5 out of the corner leading onto the 1.8 km long Mistral Straight at Paul Ricard in 1980. The haze in the distance illustrates perfectly the high speeds achieved at the famous circuit in southern France. Along with a number of other changes, the length of the straight would be curtailed following the death of Elio de Angelis in a testing accident in 1986.
